ANCIENT VILLAS
ANCIENT VILLAS ON SORNA CAPE, LORUN PENINSULA NEAR ČERVAR PORAT – these are the remains of ancient villas. The one located on the Sorna Cape in Zelena laguna was discovered during the renovation of the tourist resort, next to the current parking ground of the Zorna Hotel.
A more impressive villa by its size and the type of the remains is located on the Lorun peninsula. Its greater part has been explored, and the remains presented and marked to engage visitors in a story. It is a large rustic villa containing a number of outbuilding for the production of oil, one of the biggest centres for the production of amphorae used for oil transport, as well as underwater remains of one of the largest ancient vivariums, fish farms, on the Mediterranean.
The remains of an ancient ceramic oven are found on the edges of Červar Porat settlement.
