Days of Croatian Cuisine

The Croatian Chefs Association is organizing the Days of Croatian Cuisine from November 11th to 16th! This culinary spectacle will be held in the beautiful Žatika Hall and brings us a variety of exciting events.

The Croatian Chefs Association (HKS) was founded with the goal of bringing together, supporting, and promoting the profession of chefs and pastry chefs, and continuously advancing the hospitality industry in Croatia.

In 2024, for the first time, the HKS is organizing an international competition in Croatia according to WACS standards – the Croatian Culinary Cup, which will be held as part of the Days of Croatian Cuisine. This competition further enhances the prestige of the event and offers visitors insights into culinary trends beyond Croatia, while local chefs and pastry chefs have the opportunity to compete with international colleagues, exchanging experiences and inspiration.

Competitive Program for Days of Croatian Cuisine 2024

The Days of Croatian Cuisine 2024, HKS's prestigious annual event, will take place from November 11 to 16, 2024, in the Žatika Hall in Poreč. This week dedicated to elite culinary events brings together the most talented chefs, pastry chefs, and gastronomy experts from Croatia and abroad. The competition program offers four exciting categories that provide opportunities for participants to stand out and compete:

  • Camelia Cup: a competition aimed at aspiring high school students, encouraging young chefs and pastry chefs to advance and grow professionally.
  • National Culinary Championship: a competition where the best chefs from across Croatia compete for the title of national culinary champion, assessing technical skill, creativity, and adherence to Croatian culinary standards.
  • National Pastry Championship: participants compete for the prestigious title of national pastry champion, showcasing innovative approaches and artistic skills in dessert preparation.
  • Croatian Culinary Cup: the first international competition, organized in collaboration with WACS, further enhances the event's prestige, giving the Days of Croatian Cuisine an international character and offering visitors insights into culinary trends from abroad.

Expert Workshops and Fair Segment

One of the central parts of the Days of Croatian Cuisine is the expert workshops and the fair segment.

This year's workshops are organized by Metro and Unilever Food Solutions, aimed at chefs, pastry chefs, and visitors who want to improve their skills. Through practical advice and top-notch presentations, workshop participants have the chance to learn from the best in the industry and get inspired by the latest culinary techniques and innovations.

The fair segment further enriches the program, offering visitors the opportunity to sample products presented by HKS's partners. Additionally, the fair showcases culinary innovations that reflect the latest global trends, and visitors can find inspiration and insights into products and technologies that enhance the hospitality experience.

Event Program

The Days of Croatian Cuisine 2024 event offers a rich program of competitions, workshops, panel discussions, and ceremonial events. The main events of the manifestation are scheduled as follows:

  • 10.11.2024: Official opening of the Days of Croatian Cuisine with the gathering of chefs, pastry chefs, hospitality professionals, and visitors.
  • 11-15.11.2024: Competitions - Camelia Cup, National Culinary Championship, National Pastry Championship, and Croatian Culinary Cup.
  • 12-14.11.2024: Expert workshops and panel discussions on current topics in cuisine and hospitality.
  • 16.11.2024: Official announcement of all competition winners and closing of the event with the final program.

The Days of Croatian Cuisine are open to all visitors - admission is free.
