The Istrian assembly hall is situated in the old part of the center of Poreč (Matka Laginje 6). Originally a gothic franciscan church from the 13th century which interior is transformed into baroque style in the mid 18th century. Worthy mentioning is the ceiling with Baroque plastering decorated with illusionistic frescoes in medallions. During the last century the building was used for assemblies of the Istrian Parliament and even today the Istrian county assembly holds its formal sessions there. Through the last decades numerous cultural events has been held of which the choir concerts 'Naš kanat je lip' and the painting exhibitions 'Annale' are particularly prominent.
